Chiang Mai’s Climate
The climate of Chiang Mai and northern Thailand is influenced by the monsoons, which creates three distinct seasons.
Cool Season: (from late October until middle of February). The northeast monsoon brings cool dry air from China. Average temperatures are around 21°ree;C and cooler at night. The coldest months are December and January.
Hot Season: (middle of February to end of May). This is the transition period between the moonsoons. Average temperature is around 29.9°ree;C. The hottest month is April.
Rainy Season: (from early June to end of October). The southwest monsoon brings warm moist air from the Indian Ocean. Average temperature is around 25.5°ree;C. The wettest month is usually September.
